About Apiverket

Apiverket aggregates open data from Swedish government agencies into a single REST API. Instead of integrating dozens of separate APIs with different formats, authentication, and documentation, developers can use one API key to access all data.

Our Mission

Swedish open data is a fantastic resource, but it's scattered across dozens of agencies with inconsistent APIs. SMHI uses one format, SCB another, Trafikverket a third. Apiverket solves this by normalizing everything into consistent JSON responses with unified authentication and rate limiting.

What We Offer

Unified Format

All endpoints return consistent JSON responses with data, metadata, and rate limit information.

One Authentication

A single API key works everywhere. No separate registrations, OAuth flows, or XML parsing.

Smart Caching

We cache data based on each source's update frequency — 5 minutes for trains, 7 days for statistics.

Free to Start

The free plan includes 200 requests per day to all endpoints. No credit card required.

Data Sources

Apiverket aggregates data from: SMHI (weather, hydrology, ocean, air quality, pollen, lightning), SCB (population, GDP, trade, labor, housing, crime, education), Trafikverket (trains, ferries, road conditions, infrastructure), Riksdagen (parliament members, bills, votes), Polisen (police events, wanted persons), Bolagsverket (company registry), Försäkringskassan (social insurance), Riksbanken (exchange rates, policy rate), and 30+ more.

The Company

Apiverket is operated by Cuon Aktiebolag (org.nr 559459-3526), a Swedish technology company. We believe open government data should be easily accessible to all developers, whether building a hobby project or a commercial service.
